Spencer Micro was founded in 2010 by Sean Spencer, building on over 35 years of hands-on IT experience. We provide IT support and computer services to businesses and home users across Towcester and Northamptonshire, with the same person handling your account from first call to fixed problem.
We started Spencer Micro because too much IT support is either faceless call-centre scripts or expensive contracts full of things you don’t need. We wanted to do it differently: real advice from someone who actually knows your setup, fair pricing, and no pressure to buy anything you don’t need.
That approach hasn’t changed. Whether it’s keeping a small business network running, setting up Microsoft 365 properly, fixing a laptop that’s been driving you mad, or building a custom gaming PC, the goal is the same: sort it properly, explain it clearly, and be there next time you need us.
We work with two kinds of customer, and we don’t treat either as an afterthought. On the business side that’s small and medium organisations who need someone reliable to look after their systems without paying for a full-time IT department: day-to-day support, Microsoft 365, security, backups and the infrastructure underneath it all. On the home side it’s people who want a straight answer about a computer that’s misbehaving, a machine upgraded rather than replaced, or a PC built properly for what they actually use it for.
How we work is deliberately simple. Most problems get solved remotely, often the same day, because that’s faster for everyone. When something needs hands on it, we come out. You get one point of contact who already knows your setup, so you’re not explaining it again from scratch every time. Business support runs on a rolling monthly basis with no long tie-in, because we’d rather earn the work each month than hold anyone to a contract they’ve outgrown.
Where we work
We’re based in Towcester and work across Northamptonshire. Being local matters for the things that genuinely need someone in the room: a server that won’t come back up, a network to be put in, a machine to collect and return. For everything else, remote support means distance is rarely the deciding factor, and plenty of what we do never needs a visit at all, so we support businesses remotely well beyond this county.
